Benefits of Meditation
Recently there has been a flurry of scientific papers published which prove how remarkably beneficial meditating is. Amongst the benefits reported are:
- Reduces Stress, Anxiety and Depression
- Improves Concentration and Memory
- Increases Positive Emotions
- Helps You Get And Stay “In The Flow”
- Better and Deeper Sleep
- Slows The Ageing Process
- Decreases Pain and Inflammation
- Improves Experience of “Connection”
A 2014 study by Harvard University reported that regular meditation “increased grey-matter density in the hippocampus, known to be important for learning and memory, and in structures associated with self-awareness, compassion and introspection.”
Inner Peace Made Simple
This method offers an effective, simple and enjoyable path to experience more of life. No belief is required.
Classes and retreats are held throughout the UK and normally take place over a weekend. Courses are enjoyable and fun and the focus is very much on instructing you so you feel confident in using the techniques once the class is finished. The teaching is down-to-earth and practical and the practice itself is very easy to learn and carry out – we can even teach it to children from the ages of 6 and 7 years of age.
No belief is required to practice the Bright Path meditation – we have people come to our classes who would describe themselves as spiritual, others who are more “logic-based” in their approach, and many people who wouldn’t classify themselves as anything in particular.
The one thing all of these people share, however is a deep desire to experience more happiness and peace in their lives and an openness to the possibility that it can be much easier than we have been led to believe.
With our meditation method there are no special positions you need to assume and typically people who practise it quickly experience feelings of calmness, contentment, joy and profound physical rest. In a culture where we are told that we need to work hard to gain anything worthwhile it’s refreshing to discover a simple and enjoyable approach that delivers wonderful results.
The Bright Path meditation techniques, although ancient, are perfect for the busy modern mind. They can be practised sitting comfortably in a chair with your eyes closed, and, perhaps uniquely among meditative practices, can also be used with eyes-open as you are engaged in your daily activities.
This helps you maintain a more positive, peaceful and creative attitude as you go about your day.
We hope you enjoy the site and we look forward to meeting you at a class soon.
